All of our Westwind range fall well within the Heavyweight power to weight ratio class, due to the robust nature of the machines. All have been tested without restrictions at up 45% above their rated power for extended periods of high wind without showing any signs of damage or overheating thanks to the unique generator design.

Every single generator is tested on our own dyno. This means it is tested running at the operating rpm and at load. If the customer is purchasing the recommended control gear along with the turbine it is tested and voltage parameters set along with the generator. We can also set and run up your grid tie inverters at the same time provided they are 50hz.

All are available with various combinations including dumps loads, multi channel dumps/heating etc. All bearings, seals etc are off the shelf items. We have been careful not to use items that are likely become unavailable in the near future. There are no shim’s and no preloads.

Although the generator is unique the design accommodates maintenance or in the unlikely case of requiring rewinding (we can do a lot of things but we can’t stop lightning) this can be sorted by any winding shop anywhere in the world. Try asking some of the other manufacturers if their machines are serviceable in this manner. A lot of the stators are encapsulated and are near impossible to rewind or replicate. See if they will give you the winding details along with delivery of your turbine because if they go out of business there is just about no way of figuring out the winding details after destruction.
